Q. Write short note on:Usability Design Principles (5 M) (MAY 19)

Ans:-

1. Directness:

• Task should be perform directly
• Available alternation should be visible to the user
• Effect of  actions on object should be visible

2.Flexibility:

• The user shall be able to enter or exit with little or no effort
• perform the same the task in different ways or different order
• Provide for flexible interaction, same action through keyboard command, mouse moment or 
• voice recognition
• Allow users to tailor frequent actions.

3.Clarity:

• Visually and conceptually clean UI
•  Clear visual elements and functions
• Clear words and text

4.Responsiveness:

• The system must rapidly response to user request
• Does the UI respond correctly and timely
• provide proper feedback
• unexpected/slow/long download computer responsive time may also lead to frustration and boredom
• Feedback may be visual or can be provided through sound

5.Safety :

• User must be guarded from making mistake
• Hints and reminders must be provided to make users aware from making errors

6.Efficiency :

• Minimize eye and hand movements
• navigation path should be as short as possible
• What time does it take for users to find what they came for?

7.User Guidance:

• Meaningful feedback/help should be provided
• Help and documentation should be given
